Melanie agrees to watch her best friend Christina’s kids for an hour, but when Christina doesn’t return, Melanie becomes increasingly worried. Days go by without any word, and Melanie files a missing person report. In the meantime, she takes on the responsibility of caring for the children, Dylan, and baby Mike. What starts as a temporary arrangement soon becomes permanent, as Christina remains missing, and the boys begin to call Melanie “Mom.” Over the next few months, Melanie officially adopts them, making them her family in every sense of the word.
