I Showed Up at My Parents’ for Easter Only

I showed up at my parents’ house on Easter with tulips and chocolates, expecting smiles. Instead, I found their home completely changed—and my sister Cassandra living in it. My parents? They were in the garage, huddled on cots with a camping stove and winter coats.

Cassandra had taken over, redecorated the house, and pushed them out, claiming she and her boyfriend Nathan were “fixing it up.” My parents, too kind to say anything, just went along with it.
