My Grandmother Pretended to B

My Grandma Rosalind always said, “Love is the greatest inheritance.” At 15, I didn’t fully understand, but I would soon learn.Grandma, at 89, was my constant companion while my relatives, like Uncle Bill, mocked me for spending time with her. I cherished her moments, knowing she was getting older. One day, we learned she had lost her hearing, which devastated me.

Still, we planned a special birthday for her.At the party, I overheard my relatives, including Uncle Bill and Aunt Sarah, call Grandma “old and stupid,” and talk about fighting for her assets after she passed. Grandma, pretending to be deaf, smiled at me, knowing exactly what they said. We began recording their cruel words, planning to expose them.
